About Trine Rein
With more than 25 years as an international artist, Trine Rein is considered one of Norway’s most experienced artists, both as a singer, a performer, and a songwriter. She was born in the USA, came to Norway as a one-year-old, and she has always honored her American roots. Her pop music is often inspired by American soul, funk, and R&B as well as country music.
In 1993, Trine Rein released her debut album, ‘Finders Keepers’ with the superhit ‘Just Missed the Train’, and she was awarded a Norwegian Grammy for ‘Rookie of the Year’. Her album topped the charts in Norway for five consecutive weeks, and opened up new markets in Asia, especially in Japan, where ‘Just Missed the Train’ was a number 1 hit in 16 different charts simultaneously for several weeks in a row. The following year, she was nominated for the Norwegian Grammy award ‘Artist of the Year’. Her second album, ‘Beneath my Skin’, includes the single, ‘Torn’, which also climbed the charts and opened markets in new territories for her as an artist, amongst others, Denmark, where she completed several tours.
Trine Rein’s favorite place is on stage, and through the years, she has fulfilled an impressive number of shows, concerts, and tours. Every year, she tours churches around Norway with her very own Christmas concert, ‘Julegaven’ (The Christmas Gift), and in 2020, she launched her humor- and concert show ‘Femti, Feit & Bitter’ (‘Fifty, Fat & Bitter’), which is now postponed to 2022.
Trine has guested most Norwegian music shows and offered a legendary performance as finalist in TV show ‘Stjernekamp’ (The Battle of the Stars) in 2015. In January 2019, she participated in the TV2 success ‘Hver Gang Vi Møtes’ (‘Whenever We Meet’), where she herself was celebrated, and celebtrated her fellow colleagues. For several years in a row, she has also participated in TV2’s ‘Allsang på Grensen’ (‘Let’s Sing Together), and her latest performance was in 2020.
Through her entire career she has collaborated with producers like Ole Evenrud, Toney Carey and Louise Goffin. All in all, she has released eight albums, one best-of album, and several single releases. She has sold more than 1 million albums worldwide, and she is still going strong releasing new music every year and throwing enjoyable concerts.
