The Chats

The Australian punk rock band The Chats are coming back to Oslo! They played an amazing concert to a packed John Dee last year.

The Chats broke through with their song "Smoko" and its accompanying music video, which went viral in 2017, earning the band prominent fans such as Josh Homme, Dave Grohl, and Iggy Pop. The song was featured on the EP "Get This In Ya!!", following their self-titled debut EP from the previous year. Their debut album arrived in 2020 titled "High Risk Behaviour", which was acclaimed by publications like NME, Kerrang!, and The Guardian.

The trio has created their own genre, dubbed "shed rock", which blends pub rock, punk, surf, and garage rock. They cite Sex Pistols and Black Flag as major influences, along with Australian cult heroes like Cosmic Psychos, Dune Rats, and Eddy Current Suppression Ring.
