"I don't sing to people, I sing to their souls," says Lee Fields, soul singer and entertainer who has lived a life on stage and on tour since the seventies.

Known as "the soulman", Lee Fields truly owns the expression "Soul is a spirit, and this spirit is the spirit of God!"

If there is anything that characterizes Fields on stage, it is the unmistakable spirit: He runs from side to side, sweating, playing on the audience's emotional strings, wearing metallic-glittering gold suits and mysterious glasses.

Fields originally wanted to become a businessman when he was young, but the discovery of the great artists of the time made him change his mind. “Before The Beatles everything was in a box, but The Beatles introduced a way of thinking outside the box. They were the ones who made me want to be an entertainer, and when I saw James Brown in the movie Tami Show, I was absolutely sure, there was no way around it.”

Not surprisingly, Fields is called "Little JB" because of his physical and vocal resemblance to James Brown.

The vast majority of Field's songs and albums are about love. The songs preach about finding each other back in a relationship and Fields is both a preacher and a marriage counselor, but that this is the message is not obvious with a retro-soul-funk beat that makes the club floor rock.

"The audience is not just at a club to dance, they also get a mental boost from my music. It's the whole Lee Fields thing," he says of the lyrics.

Fields masters the art of balancing between modernizing his expression and still preserving the original sound image from the Soul era. With his futuristic stage outfits inspired by David Bowie and constantly transforming soundscape, Lee Fields is the man who continues to make soul relevant and full of new vibrations!
