About
The Chicago-based jazz vocalist Kurt Elling has expanded the parameters of jazz singing as a genre and enriched its vocabulary.
Together with guitarist Charlie Hunter, he released the EP SuperBlue: The Iridescent Spree — a follow-up to the 2021 album SuperBlue — a kaleidoscope of new songs, surprising covers, and dynamic reinventions.
Kurt Elling is a two-time GRAMMY Award winner, has performed at International Jazz Day on multiple occasions, and sang with Marvin Hamlisch and the National Symphony Orchestra at President Obama's first State Dinner.
Elling is particularly celebrated for forging a powerful connection between poetry and music. He delivers timeless songs from the Great American Songbook, but often reinvents them in collaboration with his band.
