In 1946, the Broadcasting Orchestra was established after NRK (Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation) desired to have its radio orchestra. The orchestra's musicians are at a high international level and perform a vast repertoire ranging from classical to other genres, such as jazz and pop.
The Broadcasting Orchestra is a popular ensemble often present at major events. As a media orchestra, it is frequently heard on radio, TV, in the NRK Store Studio, or at concerts around Norway.
